Minutes of October 5, 2006 Meeting

Submitted by Vicki Sutton, Dardanelle Chamber of Commerce, Executive Director. 32 Members were in attendance from 21 organizations.

• He is working on getting two training sessions scheduled (possibly three).
• He is looking forward to working with the schools in Yell County.
• He is looking into two sources of funding for grants.

• Let everyone know that the website stopmethnow.com is up and running and that any ideas will be welcomed to improve the website. Also that a couple of things he will be working on will be to add a video feature, public service announcements, and testimonials.
• Order additional flyers for distribution at school training.
• Continue with articles in newspapers. The Courier ran an article last week that also referenced our coalition.
• He has spoken with Jeff Phillips from Counseling & Associates for getting a facility for counseling.

• DCFS (Division of Child & Family Services) training on meth response.
• Get “signs of Meth” cards for Health Departments.
• Have Chamber’s Memorial Hospital to take National Protocol and incorporate with Disaster Plan.
• Staff training of Chambers personnel.

• Juvenile Office is making referral to CAI for outpatients. They have staff for outpatient treatment, but will need a building and referral system.
• Have succeeded in getting Yell County Schools involved.
• Their goals are to get outpatient system up and running.
• Red Ribbon Week.
